Creativity is the נפש of humanity. As hyper-emotional as this sounds, art encompasses beauty and emotion, two foundational components of what it means to be human. What begins as a blank canvas is morphed into an image that deeply stirs us. What was once just an instrument becomes the vehicle that lets one feel at an astronomical level. The creative effects every person in a unique way, thus making it a universal attribute. A society that searches for beauty, both aesthetic and intrinsic will certainly find a greater value in day to day living and will soon find the scent of the divine, but this will not happen naturally. The United States educational system is bent on developing pragmatic systems that will create walking excel spreadsheets. Great success does not come from the ability to "Not be Left Behind" but from a person's ability to live provoactively creative.
