God created the world and all that is in it.
Man lives day to day, generation after generation.
He who does not work does not eat: We must work to sustain life.
All good things comes from God: God is the sustainer of life.
Which is the case and/or how do they mesh?
He who sows sparingly reaps sparingly: Live a life of abundant giving
Do I lean on the fact that God is the sustainer of life and giver of all good things or do I lean on my own capabilities (which are not actually present) to build a life for my family and provide our daily bread.
What about Abraham. Was his ability to develop a strong family and abundance a divine inspiration or a result of cultural/genetic makeup?
By humility and the fear of the Lord
Are riches and honor of life
The rich and the poor have this in common
The Lord is hte maker of them all
A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
Loveing favor rathern than silver and gold.
The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty,
But those of everyoe who is hasty sure to poverty.
Getting treasures by a lying tngue
Is the fleeting fantasy of those who seek death.
The desire of the lazy man kills him,
For his hands refuse labor
He covets greedily all day long,
But the righeous gives and does not spare.
Do not mix with winbibbers,
Or with gluttonous eaters of mean;
For the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty,
And drowsiness will clothe a man with rags.
