On Thy Self

While hunting on Thanksgiving morning, I was listening to a podcast via my Iphone; (shameful, but welcome to tomorrow. Special thanks to Jeremy Pryor for sending it my way.

Accidental Creative is essentially is a site designed to enhance and empower the creative genius inside a person. I love it. Although a fine artist I am not, I certainly am not void of creative energies. All that being said, check out the podcast, they are great. So back to the point:

I listened to an interview with Lisa Johnson, it was decent; however she did plant one superb seed in my head, that we should be students of ourselves.

The deeper and more non objectively I can observe myself, the more I can make the proper changes to work for success. This is a simple concept but not often practiced. Here is my practical example. I am an extreme extrovert. I thrive in social environments and am most satisfied when I am surrounded with stimuli. My antagonist is isolation. I'll try to get alone to accomplish a goal and all that happens is I slip into a state of melancholy that is really pitiful. I respect times of solitude, but when I feel isolated I feel dead. Anyway, I was headed home this afternoon to try tackle some obligations but stopped to consider my chances of success
Here was my assessment
-Wife is gone and roomates are out of town
-Energy level is high, activity at home is nonexistent
-I need good drink to get some good work done
-People watching to me is like cocaine to a junky, it gets me going
-Isolation is cancerous to me
-Home=boring
-Starbucks=awesome

So although its out of my way and I've been there already today, I turned around and drove to starbucks. The place is packed, and buzzing with conversations. AHHH perfect. I'm in the zone and having a good time.
